Overview

The FX series of spinning reels from Shimano are designed to be a great all-around reel to meet the needs of any angler. Packed with features to increase casting distance, smoothness and durability, the FX is a great option for youth and novice anglers alike looking to chase a variety of species. The Power Roller system combined with Varispeed Oscillation within the FX spinning reel also ensures the line is retrieved back on the spool evenly to minimize unwanted loops and twists. Shimano’s Dyna-Balance technology within the FX eliminates wobble while reeling and provides anglers a reel with increased sensitivity and smoothness. The FX also features Super Stopper anti-reverse to provide anglers instant hook-setting power. The FX is available in sizes from 1000 to the 4000.

Propulsion Line Management System

The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion Spool Lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations, Shimano’s new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while also preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming.

G-Free Body

G-Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the center of gravity closer to the angler’s hand, the G-Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
