Bridging the gap between an ultra-comfortable, traditional full or split-grip cork handled bass rod, the lightweight, ultra-sensitive feel of a true JDM build, the Shimano Poison Glorious Casting lineup delivers a refined middle ground. Seven technique-specific models anchor the lineup, each engineered for precise on-the-water performance. From versatile power fishing applications to a dedicated swimbait model built with a full cork handle for added leverage when launching big baits, Poison Glorious brings elevated sensitivity and refined balance to every presentation. Starting at the rear grip and into the reel seat, Shimano is debuting FusionGrip Technology to the U.S market, which features a thin cork grip spread onto a Carbon Monocoque grip, a hollow carbon structure that transmits vibration directly to the angler’s hand. From there, a CI4+ reel seat is utilized for a lightweight reel-to-rod connection. The Poison Glorious rod blank is tuned for peak performance through the combination of Shimano’s Ultimate Blanks Design (UBD), Spiral X Core, and Hi-Power X. The UBD technology allows Shimano to strategically position different carbon materials throughout the blank, optimizing sensitivity, strength, and weight balance for each specific model. Spiral X Core then builds a hyper-rigid internal framework that resists twist and maintains structural integrity under extreme pressure. Hi-Power X wraps that core with a tailored carbon matrix that fine-tunes flex, recovery, and vibration control. The Poison Glorious series also features premium componentry, including the Shimano X Guide for the stripper guides, followed by Fuji Ti SiC guides throughout the rest of the layout. Uniting advanced blank construction, innovative grip technology, and premium componentry, the Poison Glorious casting series delivers a seamlessly integrated high-performance platform built for anglers who demand sensitivity, balance, and technique-driven precision.

Hi-Power X

Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.

Spiral X Core

Spiral X Core is Shimano's newest and most advanced blank construction technology. By integrating Spiral X carbon tape construction with Toray Nanoalloy® technology, Spiral X Core constructed blanks benefit from up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than rods built with Spiral X. Shimano is unique to the market by applying by high-strength carbon tape with this unique and patented Spiral X construction.

Ultimate Blank Design is a design technology that carefully selects the target material from over 100 different types and places it in place in each section of the tip, belly, and butt of a blank.
