Expanding Shimano’s lineup of purpose-built jigging reels, the Ocea Jigger CT stands as the flagship mid-water column option. Featuring a vertical LCD screen that delivers precise depth readings and powered by InfinityDrive for increased winding torque, this reel gives anglers the control needed for exact jig presentations, and the strength to handle big fish. Traditional mid-column jigging has long relied on metered line for depth accuracy, effective, but often hard to read, especially after dark. The Ocea Jigger CT changes that equation. Its vertical LCD depth display gives anglers instant, precise, depth feedback, allowing them to fish with greater confidence from coast to coast. Whether targeting mid-column bluefin in the Northeast, executing technical bottom presentations around tight structure, or working jigs for West Coast yellowtail, the Ocea Jigger CT delivers the accuracy and control needed to stay in the strike zone. Available in both MG (5.7:1) and HG (6.2:1) gear options, and both a 2000 and 2500 sizes, anglers can choose the model that best matches their jigging style. With a retrieval rate of 46 inches per turn, the HG model excels in deep water scenarios where finesse presentations and rapid recovery from the depths are essential. The MG model is ideal for fishing up to 150 feet or whenever maximum drag strength and winding power take priority. Featuring InfinityDrive technology, the Ocea Jigger CT supports the main shaft to reduce friction and maintain smooth, powerful winding even under heavy load. SilentDrive and MicroModule gearing further elevate performance, pairing durable gear construction with ultra tight tolerances to deliver Shimano’s signature smoothness. With max drag ratings of 26 pounds (HG) and 29 pounds (MG), powered by Shimano’s premium Cross Carbon Drag system, the Ocea Jigger CT is built for serious anglers who demand precision, strength, and reliability in every drop.

Infinity Drive within low-profile and conventional reels also optimizes the support distance and pinion gear thickness to achieve high support rigidity so that anglers can actively wind under heavy loads without compromising gear strength.

MicroModule Gear Baitcasting

The MicroModule Gear system creates a smooth retrieve by utilizing smaller teeth to increase the number of contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear. Ultimately, this produces a more efficient gear train with less of a gear feel.
